Proudly Made in America

Ethical. Sustainable. Responsible.

At Teddy Locks we believe in putting people and the planet before profit, and take our social and environmental responsibility seriously.

This is why we work directly with everybody involved in producing Teddy Locks socks.

No middlemen. No stock materials. No subcontracting.

Instead our supply chain is based on personal relationships and our environmental footprint.

It's curated based on access to materials, best practices and transportation emissions.

And means that our socks are made in North Carolina by Grant, George, Renee, Terry, Gretchen and their amazing teams, while traveling less than 250miles in production.

You can view our supplier list here and our Teddy Locks Code of Conduct here.

Transforming trash.

There are at least five unique yarns used in all of our Teddy Locks socks - each of them made from recycled materials here in the USA!

We collect used plastic bottles from the east coast of the USA and process them in North Carolina.

Unifi sort, chop and melt the bottles before extruding them into our high-performance fibers.

Unifi Repreve fibers are certified for recycled content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and are GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified.

Once the bottles have been processed and turned into recycled polyester fiber they are spun by Shuford Yarns into our specially crafted, luxuriously soft, blends.

Shuford Yarns is a family run operation in North Carolina that creates our yarns without the use of chemicals or water.

All of their products are CAFTA, NAFTA, and Berry Amendment Compliant.

At Teddy Locks we have recycled 10,000 plastic bottles and diverted 500lbs of trash from landfill!

You can learn more about our materials here.

Custom colors.

Once our yarns have been spun they are sent to our dye house in North Carolina.

Spartan Dyers, a local, family run business based near Charlotte, helps develop each of our custom colors - including our Teddy Locks yellow - before dying our recycled yarns in specialised water baths.

All of the waste water created is treated to the high levels set by the North Carolina Department of Public Health.

Green Certified Machines.

We knit all of our socks at Robinwood Enterprises - a family run operation that is dedicated to helping the community.

Here we use green certified machines that knit each of our socks as a single piece. Ensuring that the trimmings created from color changes are the only waste generated.

We are currently working with Robinwood to set up a recycling program that will benefit all of the brands using the mill.

Clean and Simple.

All of our Teddy Locks socks are processed by Teamwork, a female-owned and operated facility in North Carolina.

They wash all of our socks without any detergents or chemicals, and skip the dryer. Instead, they board our socks using only steam, before inspecting every single one of them by hand.

100% Recycled and Recyclable.

All of our packaging, from the stickers and tissue paper to the mailers and labels, is 100% recycled and recyclable.

It's all produced in the USA, with our sock bands also being cut and printed in North Carolina.

We have chosen paper based, and plastic free, packaging because it is globally more readily recycled.
