TRANSPARENCY & TRACEABILITY
Made by Grant, George, Renee, Terry, Gretchen & their amazing teams.
FIBER MILL
Plastic bottles are collected from the
east coast of the USA.
They're sorted, chopped up & melted
by UNIFI in North Carolina.
Then made into high-performance
textile fibers for Teddy Locks.
More than 10,000 plastic bottles recycled
& 1,500lbs of trash saved from landfill!
SPINNING MILL
Family run
Shuford Yarns, in North Carolina,
spins our recycled fibers into our
specially crafted, luxuriously soft, yarns
without the use of chemicals or water.
We use more than five unique Teddy Locks yarns in all of our socks
- each of them made from recycled materials here in the USA!
DYE HOUSE
Custom Colors
Spartan Dyers, a local, family run business based near Charlotte,
dye our custom colors - including our Teddy Locks yellow.
KNITTING MILL
Green Certified Machines
We knit all of our socks at Robinwood Enterprises
- a family run operation dedicated to helping the community.
Here we use green certified machines that knit each of our socks as a single piece.
Ensuring that the trimmings created from color changes are the only waste generated.
We are currently working with Robinwood to set up a recycling program
that will benefit all of the brands using the mill.
FINISHING
Clean and Simple
All of our Teddy Locks socks are processed by Teamwork,
a female-owned & operated facility in North Carolina.
They wash all of our socks without any detergents or chemicals, & skip the dryer.
Instead, they board our socks using only steam, before inspecting each one by hand.
PACKAGING
100% Recycled & Recyclable
All of our packaging, from the stickers & tissue paper to the mailers & labels,
are 100% recycled & recyclable, & made in the USA.
We have chosen paper based, & plastic free, packaging because it is more readily recycled.
